Eligibility Review Process

  • The role of the Eligibility Review Officer is to investigate a person's past or present eligibility for payment under Ontario Works (OW), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), or Family Benefits Act (FBA).
  • Complaints are received through the Fraud Hotline, 1-800-394-7867, which is a toll free number, or complaints can be lodged through the local Ontario Works office at (519) 255-5200 ext. 5287. Each complaint is investigated thoroughly to ensure eligibility.
  • The Eligibility Review team works closely with the local Police and Crown Attorney's office to gather evidence of fraud and successfully present their case in court.
