Numerous trail systems run throughout the parkland, providing areas for mountain bikers, walkers, joggers, bird watchers, and nature lovers. Bridges link the trails over the Little River East Marsh Tap Drain.

Look for the "old channel" of the Little River in this corridor. The old channel is where the Little River once meandered through the landscape. This river corridor was historically surrounded by large marshland areas. The Little River corridor provides habitat for many wetland species.

In 1966, the local Kiwanis Club expressed an interest in seeing the site of the Little River Sewage Treatment Plant converted into usable public parkland. By early 1967, this park located in the Little River Corridor was officially opened. It was appropriate that the park was opened during the coldest part of the winter; built atop one of the highest man‑made peaks in the city, the site is used in the winter months by many eager tobogganers visiting Hope Hill. From the top of the hill, tobogganers are treated to a wide panoramic view of Little River Corridor.

At the east end of Little River Road, a new outdoor pump track was installed, providing local cyclists with an exciting and dynamic facility to enhance their skills and enjoy outdoor recreation. The track features a well-designed layout with a series of rollers, berms and jumps, allowing riders of all skill levels to experience the thrill of pump track riding. Pump tracks are suitable for various wheeled activities, including BMX bikes, mountain bikes, skateboards and scooters.

In 2022, the old playground was replaced with a new accessible playground, south of the parking lot and gazebo, along with new benches and a new bike rack. Collage of Little River pump track and playground
