Sewer Information Sheet

A Request for Sewer Information (Blue Sheet or Sewer Information Sheet) is a record of available sewers and private drain connections.

The Request for Sewer Information Sheet is necessary in order to obtain a Building Permit or a private drain connection replacement and can be obtained through the Engineering Department located at 350 City Hall Square West, 3rd Floor.

The cost is $26.50 (taxes are included).

The Sewer Information Sheet:

  • Tells you if there is a sewer(s) available to service the subject property;
  • Tells you if there is a record of a connection at the lot line and if there is any special information about the connection (e.g. if there are charges for its use);
  • If there is no record of connection at the lot line, it tells you specific information about the sewer you have to connect to and the method that you have to use to tap that sewer. (i.e.-"T" or tap);
  • Stipulates fees and indemnities that are applicable to obtain permit.

The Sewer Information Sheet generally takes 24 hours to compile, and it is necessary in order to obtain a Building Permit.

Field locates of sewer infrastructure are performed by the City by calling Ontario 1 Call at 1-800-400-2255 or online at www.on1call.com. See the Digital Sewer Atlas for access to the City's digital sewer atlas map book or the Sewer Atlas map found at mapmycity.ca.
