Environmental Quality Division (Laboratory)
The City of Windsor's Pollution Control Laboratory team plays a critical role with many important factors in assisting the protection of the city's treatment plants, sewers, pumping stations, storm drains, and the natural environment. In order to protect the distinct areas mentioned, the Environmental Quality Division Laboratory continually conducts analytical testing pertaining to industry, treatment plant operations, pumping stations, and any environmental spill that may have occurred affecting the storm or sewer-related infrastructure.
Environmental awareness through process optimization and minimizing potential environmental impacts wherever possible creates for a better tomorrow that the Environmental Quality Division is proud to be a part of.
Presently, the Pollution Control system for the Windsor area consists of:
- Two wastewater treatment plants
- Large interceptor sewers and chambers
- Trunk sanitary sewers
- Pumping stations
- Laboratory facilities for process and industrial waste control
The Environmental Quality Division's goal is zero discharge of toxins, both industrial and municipal.
