Admittance & Supervisor Requirement

To assist us in ensuring your children have a safe and enjoyable swimming experience, the City of Windsor has implemented a new wristband procedure. This system allows us to identify children at risk and ensure adequate supervision in the pool area. All children 9 years of age and under will be given an identifying wristband by the facility staff. To determine the admission and supervision requirements and identifying wrist band colour for your child(ren), please refer to the following chart:

Age Admission Requirements Child/Caregiver Ratio Wristband Colour
<5 Accompanied* 2:1 Pink
6-7 Accompanied* 3:1 Orange
A child may obtain a green wristband (in addition to orange) if he or she completes the facility swim test allowing them to swim alone. They are still required to have supervision in the facility.
8-9 Accompanied* 3:1 Orange
If a child passes the facility swim test, the orange wrist band is removed and he or she will be given a green wristband allowing them unaccompanied access to the entire facility.
*Child must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or designated (caregiver) who is at least 14 years of age and is responsible for their direct supervision. Caregiver must be in bathing attire and within arm's reach of the child(ren) at all times -- both in and out of the water.
