Jackson Park

Jackson Park is one of the most popular wedding sites in the city. The park features some of the most magnificent formal gardens and fountains in all of Windsor. For those planning a spring ceremony, you can look forward to enjoying a beautiful backdrop full of hundreds of flowering bulbs. Later in the season, look forward to a ceremony in the midst of summer perennials and lush annuals. There is a designated wedding location west of the gardens that can accommodate wedding ceremonies both large and small.

Alexander Park

Location: Riverside Drive East, between George Avenue and Strabane Avenue

Alexander Park runs along the south bank of the Detroit River. Riverfront views, wedding gazebo, and ample parking make this a fantastic location for your special day. One of the benefits of Alexander Park is the proximity to other riverfront parks such as Reaume Park-Coventry Gardens. This park is one of the pristine locations for wedding photos in the city (no permit required; no fee; first-come, first-served).

Shanfield Shores

Location: Riverside Drive East, east of Flora Avenue

Located adjacent to the Lakeview Park Marina, Shanfield Shores is a hidden gem along Windsor's riverfront. This park is ideal for an intimate wedding ceremony with beautiful views of the Detroit River, Peche Island, and Lake St. Clair.

Wedding Photography

There is no charge or permit required for taking wedding photographs in a park. Notable locations include riverfront parks such as Dieppe Gardens, Reaume-Coventry Gardens, Bert Weeks Memorial Gardens, and the Windsor Sculpture Park. For formal gardens, fountains, and various memorials, visit the Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens located in Jackson Park. There are various naturalized areas located throughout the city: Ojibway Park, Malden Park, and the Little River Corridor have spaces that have been left to natural grooming to create beautiful background scenery for wedding photos.

Wedding photos in parks operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so you may have to wait and/or share your preferred area with other wedding groups.
