Sidewalk Cafe Application Process
You must follow the process outlined below in order to complete your sidewalk café application:
Once the application has undergone review within each of the service areas, comments and concerns are collected for the department. If there is no opposition or concern by any of the circulated parties, a permit will be issued. If there is opposition or concern, the applicant will be notified and may choose to proceed to City Council for further review.
Step 4 (if there is no opposition in Step 3, proceed to Step 5):
The CAO or City Council will review the report of each application, at which time they will decide if the application will be approved or denied. If the application is approved, it will continue through the standard process as stated below. If the application is rejected, a notification will be sent to the applicant and no permit will be issued.
2021 Update - All fees associated with obtaining a Sidewalk, Parklet or Curbside Cafe permit have been waived this year; therefore, fees will not be collected prior to permit issuance. The permit clerks will email the applicant their approved permit.
