Location: Chimczuk Museum, 401 Riverside Drive West
Date: October 4, 2024
Time: 6 to 9 p.m.
Cost: $20 per person, 19-plus event

Join Museum Windsor at the Chimczuk Museum for an exciting evening of whisky, talks, and tastings, featuring local whisky from J.P. Wiser’s (distilled at the Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery) along with sweet and savoury bites locally sourced by The Cheese Bar.

Throughout the evening, you can entice your palate with multiple flavours while exploring the area’s rich history of whisky-making and secret illicit activities. Travel back to the 19th century and beyond as you learn about the beginning of our local industry and how our success later became the bee’s knees for dappers and flappers ready to risk it all to make an amber-coated fortune. Their secret endeavours live on today, some still being uncovered in the depths of our very own Detroit River.

A ticket to this roaring evening includes the following:

  • Admission to the Chimczuk Museum and all of the available exhibitions
  • Three (3) drink/tasting tickets for your choice of Wiser’s whiskies along with an exclusive look behind the scenes by the master blender himself, Dr. Don Livermore
  • In-depth tour of Beyond the Barrel: Windsor’s Whisky History by exhibit curator Nicole Chittle
  • Under the Surface: A talk by local diver Matt Zuidema about his Prohibition finds in the Detroit River and experience in filming National Geographic’s series Drain the Oceans
  • Prize basket raffle: your ticket secures you three (3) ballots to enter for a chance to win one or more exclusive guest prizes and experiences for the evening.

Optional:

  • The Cheese Bar will be serving up exquisite tasting plates of cheeses, meats, sweets, and other local and internationally curated fare. Depending on your palate and chosen whiskies, you can purchase one or more plates to create divine pairings of tantalizing flavours.
  • Guests are invited to join in on the glamour of the Roaring '20s and arrive in costume as an early Halloween celebration. Guests who arrive in costume will automatically be entered into a prize draw for the evening.

Tickets available for purchase at Museum Windsor. Please call 519-253-1812 to purchase tickets or visit us at 401 Riverside Drive West.
