School Camp Program at the Chimczuk Museum

Museum Windsor plays a key role in many events, projects, initiatives and celebrations in Windsor's culture and heritage community. We actively engage in finding unique ways to help the community tell its stories.

Chimczuk Museum Joins Art Windsor-Essex (AWE) at Night!

Location: Chimczuk Museum, 401 Riverside Drive West

Joint admission rate: $13.25 per person

The Chimczuk Museum is staying open late to participate in the popular AWE at Night. Join us for a guided tour of our new Chariots of Fire: A History of Windsor’s Firefighting Equipment exhibition from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Joint admission to the Chimczuk Museum/AWE required; free admission for Art Windsor-Essex and Museum Windsor members.

Celebrate International Museums Day and “Meet your Museum” by visiting the Chimczuk Museum on Saturday, May 18, 2024. In honour of International Museums Day, Museum Windsor is pulling out all the stops for a fun-filled day of history and exploration. Special programming includes the following:

  • A talk by Cameron Adamson about Windsor’s Masonic Temple at 1 p.m.
  • A talk by Guest Curator Walter McCall about local firefighting history at 2:30 p.m. 
  • Guided tour of our new exhibition Chariots of Fire: A History of Windsor’s Firefighting History by Guest Curator Jeff Topliffe at 3 p.m.
  • The historic “Elcombe” fire engine on display in the Museum’s parking lot from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Firefighting themed crafts and exhibit scavenger hunt
  • Best of all, free admission to the Chimczuk Museum and Art Windsor-Essex (In lieu of an admission fee, visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation to the Windsor Youth Centre.)

Mark your calendars and make sure to stop by the Chimczuk Museum on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

François Baby House Tour & Sunday Hours 

Location: François Baby House, 254 Pitt Street West
Date: May 26, 2024
Time: 2 to 5 p.m.
Free admission

Visit the François Baby House for the first of several Sunday openings this summer. There will be a guided tour starting at 2:30 p.m. exploring the origins of Museum Windsor. Free event, open to the public.

Ford City Walking Tour

Location: Starting location revealed after ticket purchase
Date: June 1, 2024
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

$5.50 per person, advance purchase required

Join Museum Windsor staff on a guided walking tour of Ford City. Topics include the Ford Motor Company of Canada, prohibition, immigration in the early 20th century, the Great Depression, the Ford Strike of 1945, the riot at Our Lady of the Lake, and more! Tickets are $5.50 per person and must be purchased in advance. Visit the Chimczuk Museum or call 519-253-1812 to purchase tickets.
