Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for Cats

2021 Voucher Program

Black and while cat on a blanketSpaying and neutering pets to prevent unwanted pregnancies is the very foundation of effective animal control. The City of Windsor is pleased to once again offer its Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for cats. The program is set to release feral and owned cat vouchers on March 17 at 9:00 a.m.

Vouchers are only available by calling 311.

Vouchers for owned cats are reserved for low-income families, and a declaration of income is required. A maximum of two vouchers per household will be issued where the cats are owned. For feral cat caregivers, a maximum of two vouchers per household will be issued with no income restrictions. In both cases, the applicant must be over the age of 18.

Vouchers are non-transferrable and will expire on July 31, 2021. They may be redeemed at any participating veterinary clinic (list to be provided upon successful application). Recipients must call and book appointments for spay/neuter services in advance. In an effort to reduce the number of homeless cats and number of cats euthanized in the city, 260 vouchers will be issued. Please be advised there is a high demand, and vouchers will not be released prior to the scheduled date and time.

For general information, please call 311 (alternate: 519-255-2489). For detailed inquiries, call Grace Montgomery at 519-255-6100 ext. 6685.
