Marriage Licences

The City of Windsor's marriage licence application process has moved to the ServiceOntario website. To submit your application online, please use the link below. Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email with instructions.

Appointments must be made in advance to obtain your marriage licence.

Marriage licences are issued between 9:00 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.

All original documents and identification must be provided at the marriage licence appointment for both applicants in order for the licence to be issued.

Before applying, please review the Marriage Licence Requirements to ensure you have the correct identification and supporting documents.

Licence Validity

A marriage licence is valid for three months from the date it is issued and may be used anywhere in Ontario. We recommend applying approximately four to six weeks before your ceremony.

Marriage licences are non-refundable and cannot be extended.
