Fares and Passes
Transit Windsor no longer accepts paper tickets as payment to board Transit Windsor buses.
While Transit Windsor (TW) recently transitioned to the new Umo fare management system, current Smart Pass holders can continue to use their passes until December 31, 2026. You are not required to switch to the new Umo cards until you are ready to reload or purchase your next pass.
Transit Windsor Smart Ride cards will be accepted on all bus routes until December 31, 2026. Existing rides on your Smart Ride cards are not transferable to the new Umo card.
Transit Windsor offers a variety of fare payment methods for your convenience. Please check below to find the option that's right for you.

Cash
Debit and credit cards cannot be used on the bus. When paying cash on the bus, exact fare is required. Operators cannot make change, and overpayments are not reimbursed.

CLASS Pass
The Class Pass is a 5-month pass that is available to youth (13 to 19) and full-time secondary students under the age of 20. You must present valid identification. Creating a Umo account and registering your Umo card is highly recommended, in case your card is lost. Remaining balances can be transferred to a replacement Umo card at a cost of $10.00. If you choose not to create an account or register your card, you must bring in your original sales receipt.

Amherstburg 605
Cash Fare: $6.00
Passengers who use their TW smart ride card or TW smart pass (blue and red cards, sold in Windsor or LaSalle) when boarding the Amherstburg 605 will be required to pay a $1.00 top-up fee at time of boarding. Passengers must deposit $1.00 into the farebox. Exact change required. Operators cannot make change, and overpayments are not reimbursed. The fare top-up is not required for holders of U-Passes, Saints Pass, or Regional Fare cards.

Transfers
Upon request, all cash-paying passengers are provided with a transfer upon boarding. The transfer is valid for two hours from the time of issuance. Transfers are valid from the Amherstburg service to the LaSalle and City service. Transfers from the LaSalle and City service to the Amherstburg service require a $1.00 top-up. Smart ride cards can be purchased at various locations.

Available to companies who partner with Transit Windsor to offer discounted smart passes to their employees.

Veterans
The Transit Windsor Board of Directors revised the war veterans' policy to include free bus service on any city bus for persons in military uniform on the following days:
- D-Day (June 6)
- Raid on Dieppe (August 19)
- Remembrance Day (November 11)
War Veteran Transit Pass Program Application with Fillable Entry
The Transit Windsor Board of Directors approved a War Veteran Transit Pass Program as a gesture of respect and acknowledgement of your personal sacrifice and commitment to our community and to Canada through your service in the armed forces.
War veterans are now eligible to receive a lifetime Transit Windsor transit pass for unlimited use on the conventional city service in the city of Windsor. The following veterans are eligible:
Canadian or Allied veterans who actively served in a deployed combat or peacekeeping role (i.e. Korean War, Afghanistan, Cyprus, etc.), and must provide proof of service (spouses are not eligible); and, must be a permanent resident of the city of Windsor.

War Veteran Transit Pass Program Application with Fillable Entry
UPASS
The UPASS is a universal smart pass for University of Windsor Students' Alliance (UWSA), Organization of Part-time University Students (OPUS) and Graduate Student Society (GSS) students. Inquiries regarding a lost, stolen or confiscated smart pass should be directed to the UWSA office.
SaintsPASS
The SaintsPASS is a universal smart pass for students attending St. Clair College. Inquiries regarding a lost, stolen or confiscated smart pass should be directed to the Student Representative Council (SRC) office.
Do not bend or punch holes in your Umo card, as it contains a microchip, and Transit Windsor will not refund a card that malfunctions due to these modifications.
