Construction and Detours

​The Banwell Road southbound left thru lane at the McHugh Street/McNorton Street intersection will be closed for approximately one (1) month for the construction of a new left turn lane and median work. Local traffic will be permitted only. From October 4, 2021 to October 29, 2021 - weather permitting.

​Bernard Road from Tecumseh Road East to Guy Street will be closed for approximately 5 months for sewer, pavement, watermain and street lighting rehabilitation. Local traffic will be permitted only. The westbound curb lane and eastbound left turn lane on Tecumseh Road East will be closed as needed.

As part of an ongoing infrastructure renewal program, the Windsor Utilities Commission (WUC) will be installing a new 200mm dia. PVC watermain on Byng Road from Seymour Boulevard to Lappan Avenue.

​As part of the Cabana Road Corridor Improvements Phase 3, the intersection of Cabana Road and Dougall Avenue will be completely closed to traffic for road reconstruction and traffic signal work. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained. A noise by-law exemption was approved by City Council to allow for the accelerated completion of the work. Detour signage will be in place. From 8:00pm on Friday, October 22 until 8:00pm Wednesday, October 27, 2021. (weather permitting).

​Watch for lane restrictions and construction crews along Cabana Road West between Dougall Avenue and Northway Avenue. New infrastructure work is set to get underway, possibly this week, and while some road closures may be needed from time to time, through traffic is expected to be maintained for the most part.

​As part of the Cabana Road Corridor Improvements - Phase 3, Dominion Boulevard and McKay Avenue will be closed between Roselawn Drive and Cabana Road. Local traffic only. From Tuesday, August 3, 2021, until approximately Labour Day.

​Cabana Road West will have lane restrictions between Dougall Avenue and Howard Avenue for sewer relining, boulevard restoration and surface asphalt paving work. Detour signage will be in place.

Dougall Avenue north of Cabana Road will have a one-day lane restriction as a result of this work on Monday, April 26, 2021.

​Cameron Avenue from Riverside Drive West to Wyandotte Street West will be closed for approximately 2 months for the reconstruction of watermain and milling and paving of existing roadway. The roadway will be closed (local traffic only) for the duration of the project.

​Southbound Central Avenue will be reduced to one lane leading to the Central Avenue Overpass, over the E.C. Row Expressway, starting on Monday October 18, 2021. This is the first of 3 phases of bridgework that will impact drivers between October 18 and November 7, 2021. Dates will be released for each stage as they draw nearer, and the work will generally include:

Stage 1 - Southbound Central Avenue reduced to one lane.

Stage 2 - Closure of entire structure for one weekend for asphalt resurfacing and line painting.

Stage 3 - Nightly closure of structure from 7:00pm to 5:00am, reopened for daytime traffic.

Detours will be posted for full closures and construction notices issued as work progresses.

​Curry Avenue and McKay Avenue will be closed between Grove Avenue and Adanac Avenue for sewer, watermain and road rehabilitation. Sidewalk and Boulevard restoration work will be done on Adanac Avenue between Campbell Avenue and Adanac Avenue.

Curry Avenue from Norfolk Street to Richardie Boulevard will be closed for storm sewer, road reconstruction and local improvement.

Eastlawn Avenue from Wyandotte Street East to Edgar Street will be closed until approximately March of 2022 for sewer, pavement, watermain, sidewalk and streetlighting rehabilitation. Local Traffic only.

​E.C. Row Expressway will have lane restrictions in the following locations for guardrail repairs.

• Westbound between Banwell Road and Lauzon Parkway
• Eastbound between Howard Avenue and Walker Road
• Eastbound between Central Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard

​Gladstone Avenue from Tecumseh Road East to Ypres Avenue as well as Ypres Avenue from Forest Avenue to Walker Road will be under road and  watermain construction for approximately 5 months. Gladstone Avenue will be closed and Ypres Avenue will be partially closed (westbound) for the duration of construction to local traffic only. Travellers should expect long delays and avoid area if possible. To complete the project as fast as possible, construction will occur simultaneously between the two streets (when possible).

​Huron Church Road will have lane(s) closed between Tecumseh Road West and College Avevue for the reconstruction of the road and watermain. Please follow posted detour signs. Expect delays.

Huron Church Road will continue to have lane restrictions between Tecumseh Road West and College Avenue for final electrical, signal and landscaping work to complete the construction project. Ongoing until Monday, September 6, 2021 (weather permitting).

​The Windsor Utilities Commission will be reconstructing the watermains on: Kildare Road from Wyandotte Street East to Assumption Street (Ward 4).

​Labelle Street from Dominion Boulevard to Rockwell Boulevard will be closed for approximately 1 month for road rehabilitation. The road will be closed (local traffic only) for the duration of the project.

​Lauzon Parkway from Tecumseh Road East to Hawthorne Drive will be partially closed for approximately 4 months for the reconstruction of travel lanes, new sidewalk and multi-use trail. The roadway will be reduced to one lane in the southbound direction and one lane in the northbound direction for the duration of the project. Road users should expect delays. Access to all businesses remain open. From June 7 to October 1, 2021 (weather permitting).

​Mark Avenue from Campbell Avenue to Algonquin Street will be closed for approximately 4 months for sewer, pavement and watermain rehabilitation. Local traffic will be permitted only. The southbound lane of Campbell at Mark Avenue will be closed as needed.

​Installation of water services on North Talbot Road from Howard Avenue to east of Southwood Lakes Boulevard. Expect some delays.

​Southbound Ojibway Parkway will have partial lane restrictions intermittently between Sprucewood Avenue and GN Booth Drive for rehabilitation of the sanitary trunk sewer. Work will primarily take place on the shoulder of the roadway, but restrictions may occasionally be required.

​Olive Road from Milloy Street to Tecumseh Road East will be closed for approximately four months for the rehabilitation of sanitary and storm sewers, pavement, watermain and street lighting. Local traffic will be permitted only.

​The Windsor Utilities Commission will be reconstructing the watermains on Parent Avenue from Erie Street East to Giles Boulevard West (Ward 4).

​Parkside Court will be closed from Beals Street West to 1548 Parkside Court for Watermain Reconstruction.

​Provincial Road from Lowe's / Monach Basics intersection to Legacy Park Drive is fully OPEN by December 18, 2020.  Construction continues on 6th CONCESSION DRAIN and NORTH ROSELAND PUMP STATION in CAPTAIN JOHN WILSON PARK.

​Randolph Avenue from Cleary Street to Northwood Street will be closed for storm sewer, pavement, watermain streetlighting rehabilitation and local improvement work. Local traffic only.

​Rankin Avenue from Union Street to Wyandotte Street West will be closed for approximately 2 months for sewer, pavement and street lighting rehabilitation. Local traffic will be permitted only.

​Rhodes Drive will have lane restrictions between Deziel Drive and Wheelton Drive for road repairs. Please slow down and use caution in the construction zone. Flag persons will be on hand.

​Riverside Drive East will be closed for structure rehabilitation work on the bridge over Little River Drain (east of Riverdale). 

​Tecumseh Road East currently has eastbound lane restrictions between Forest Glade and Clover Avenue for catch basin repairs.

​Westbound Tecumseh Road from Drouillard Road to Walker Road will be single lane traffic for 2 months for the road and watermain rehabilitation. Travellers should expect long delays.

​As part of an ongoing infrastructure renewal program, the Windsor Utilities Commission (WUC) will be installing a new 200mm PVC watermain on Westminster Boulevard from Wyandotte Street East to CNR rail tracks by horizontal directional drilling method. Work is scheduled to begin the week of October 18, 2021. The project should take approximately 8 weeks to complete. Project timing is weather dependant. Tree trimming will also occur in advance by a certified sub-contractor.

​Eastbound Ypres Avenue will be closed between Forest Avenue and Walker Road for road construction. From Monday, October 18 to Friday, November 26, 2021.
