Tunnel Closures Update

  • The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel will be closed between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on the following three Thursdays: February 20, February 27, and March 5, 2020
  • During the closure times, the last regular Transit Windsor service bus to Detroit will depart from the Windsor International Transit Terminal at 8:00 p.m., and the last bus from Detroit to Windsor will depart from Little Caesars Arena at 8:34 p.m.
  • Note: During the nightly closure portion of the construction project, the tunnel will be used to take passengers to special events until the last trip time noted above. The Ambassador Bridge will be used for the return trip home.  Passengers are requested to return to the bus stop immediately following the event.

Regular Tunnel Bus Service 

  • The Tunnel Bus operates a short route through downtown Detroit, seven days a week. Buses leave from the Windsor International Transit Centre at 300 Chatham Street West on a regularly published schedule. On the return trip to Windsor, the bus stops at Caesars Windsor, prior to arriving at the bus terminal.

Service to Little Caesars, Comerica Park, and the Entertainment District

  • The Tunnel Bus provides service through the downtown core of Detroit, which includes Little Caesars Arena, which is within 5 minutes walking distance from the entertainment district that includes the Fillmore and the Fox Theater
  • This route combines the Special Event bus stops for both Little Caesars Arena and Comerica Park as part of the regular scheduled service.
  • The Tunnel Bus, supplemented with the Special Event bus, now serves all games (Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons and Detroit Tigers) and concerts at Little Caesars Arena and Comerica Park.
  • Special Event buses will begin returning to Windsor immediately after the event and up to 30 minutes after the end of the event.

Service to Ford Field for Lions Football and other select events

  • Special Event service is provided to Ford Field for Lions games and other select events. 
  • For football games, Special Event bus service departs 2.5 hours before the start of the game. Buses will begin returning to Windsor immediately after the game and up to 30 minutes after the end of the game. 
  • The pick-up and drop-off point for Ford Field events is on Gratiot, just north of St. Antoine. 
  • For concerts, the Special Event bus service departs 60 and 90 minutes prior to the start of the concert. Special Event buses will begin returning to Windsor immediately after the concert and up to 30 minutes after the end of the concert.
