Secondary School Extras

An extra is a bus that takes the rider directly to school. These buses are strictly for students attending a secondary school and are put in place to take excess loads off of the regular routes.

Fares

Regular fares apply for all passengers boarding a secondary school extra bus.

Stop Information:

School extra routes have no pre-set stops and in some areas do overlap on a regular bus route. All buses, including the school extras, have route information displayed on the bus (i.e., School Extra Massey).

If an extra travels along a regular bus route, then the extras will use the regular bus stops. Students are encouraged to stand in groups where possible, as buses do not stop at every corner. Students can stand at a corner and flag down the bus. Backpacks, uniforms etc. are all indicators for the drivers along the school extra routes. It is important to keep in mind that each year, routes are subject to changes based on demand in certain areas and the ridership numbers.

Please note that extras are subject to change without notice. Additionally, extras may be cancelled with no advance notice due to circumstances beyond our control. School extras operate on regularly scheduled school days only.

Detours

City of Windsor construction projects may affect secondary school extra routes. Please visit our detours, route and schedule changes page to see if your school extra is affected.
