Data from Canada’s 2021 Census suggests that Windsor’s population grew by 5.7 percent between 2016 and 2021 from 217,188 to 229,660. The population of the Windsor Census Metropolitan Area (CMA), which according to Statistics Canada includes the towns of Amherstburg, LaSalle, Lakeshore and Tecumseh, grew by 6 percent during the same period from 398,718 to 422,630. This makes it the 14th largest metropolitan area in Canada.
