Each year, we celebrate the City of Windsor's birthday with an exciting party! This is an opportunity to join in some free family fun and celebrate Windsor alongside citizens from all across the city. 

Explore, Discover, Celebrate: Windsor's 133rd Birthday Celebration and City Hall Square Grand Opening!

Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The City of Windsor marks its 133rd anniversary of incorporation in 2025, and everyone is invited to celebrate at a free community event packed with fun for the entire family. This year, we’re inviting you to Explore Your City with a day of family-friendly fun as we officially open the brand-new year-round event space at City Hall Square! Join us as we explore, discover and celebrate our incredible community!

The City of Windsor’s 133rd Birthday Party will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mayor Drew Dilkens will welcome the community to the grand opening celebration of City Hall Square, a brand-new year-round event space outside of Windsor's City Hall. The party will include free birthday cupcakes (while supplies last), live entertainment, recreation demonstrations and activities, a children's art exhibition, and family-friendly games and activations.

Other opportunities to Explore Your City include free admission to Museum Windsor, nearby community events, and so much more!

Entertainment and More (Note: Times are approximate):

  • 11:00 a.m. The celebration begins with welcome remarks from Mayor Drew Dilkens, special presentations and performances, the official ribbon cutting and opening of City Hall Square, and the singing of Happy Birthday.
  • 11:30 a.m. Mayor Drew Dilkens helps hand out free cupcakes, and free hot-dogs are served (while supplies last).
  • 11:30 a.m. Enjoy performances from local musicians, free participatory recreation demonstrations, community partner activities, family-friendly games and activations, and more. (Full schedule coming soon!)
  • 7:00 p.m. End of Birthday celebration.

Free Admission to the Chimczuk Museum

Museum Windsor's Chimczuk Museum offers free admission on July 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Browse the permanent exhibitions and learning space, and visit the gift shop packed with locally made goods!

Explore Your City Passport

There is so much to celebrate in the city of Windsor! A print-at-home passport will be available for download, or you can pick one up at the City of Windsor Birthday Celebration or a City of Windsor community centre and keep track of all there is to explore!

Explorers who visit at least two of the listed activities and submit their Explore Your City Passport at any City of Windsor community centre by August 1, 2025, will be entered into a draw to win a Celebration Prize Basket!
