Does the City of Windsor accept general resumes?

No, we do not accept general resumes. Resumes will only be accepted for advertised positions or for the Clerical Supply Pool.

Where do I drop off my resume?

Follow the information at the bottom of the job posting to ensure your resume is received, i.e. drop off your resume to the Human Resources Department, 400 City Hall Square East, Suite 408, Windsor, ON, N9A 7K6 or email your resume to or drop off your resume to one of the Customer Care Centres.

What is the acceptable format for my resume?

Your resume should be emailed as an attachment in Word or PDF format. Sending your resume in another format may result in unexpected formatting, compatibility or filter related issues, and your resume may be rejected as a result.

What if I received my education outside of Canada?

If you are the successful applicant and your education was obtained outside of Canada, you will be responsible (inclusive of any costs) for verifying your education for Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.

What is considered an accredited educational institute?

An accredited educational institute is a government regulated school. For more information, including a list of current accredited educational institutes, visit the Government of Canada website.

Education obtained through a Private Career College will not be considered equivalent.

I missed the posting period deadline. Can I still apply?

No, once the posting period has ended, we are unable to accept additional resumes. If your submission is made by email, it must be received in the inbox no later than the closing time indicated on the job posting.

If I applied for an advertised position, when will I hear from someone?

Only those applicants selected to continue in the recruitment process will be contacted.

What if I require accommodation?
