Windsor Demographics

Data from Canada’s 2021 Census suggests that Windsor’s population grew by 5.7 per cent between 2016 and 2021 from 217,188 to 229,660. The population of the Windsor Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) which according to Statistics Canada includes Amherstburg, LaSalle, Lakeshore, Essex, Kingsville, Tecumseh and Leamington grew by 6 per cent during the same period from 398,718 to 422,630. This makes it the 14th largest metropolitan area in Canada.
