Arts, Culture + Heritage Fund (ACHF)

2014 Round 2 Grant Recipients and Funded Projects

Twenty applications totaling $83,793.10 were received and adjudicated by our Jury for the second round of funding. We are thrilled to announce that seventeen of these projects have received ACHF funding. We extend our congratulations to the following:
Harvesting the FAM Festival: $2,500 - This is Windsor's largest multi-disciplinary arts festival that includes 300+ creative talents presenting their work free of charge to the public. Funding will be utilized to enhance the marketing of the festival.
The Unquiet Dead: $,2,000 - These funds will be used to fund the production of a record.
Drouillard Place: $2,000 - Local artist Jay Raven will empower and lead approximately 50 Ford City youth in the creation of a 5ft x 12ft mural to be installed at 1297 Drouillard Road.
Min Bae: $3,500 - Local filmmaker Min Bae will develop a short film about a young woman who becomes a rum runner in Windsor in the 1920s.
Danuta Siniarska: $1,000 - The Windsor Ethnic Chart will research through interviews with local ethnic leaders to create a sculptural chart to be exhibited locally and digitally.
Chris Rabideau: $3,000 - The Website Connecting Artists to the Community will be developed to link theatre performers, youth and other creatives together for mentorship, and provide meaningful artistic experiences.
Colin Wysman: $1,500 - These funds will be used to fund the production of a record.
Literary Arts Windsor (BookFest Windsor): $3,500 - Alistair MacLeod: A Literary Tribute. The tribute will be developed as a Celtic ceilidh, with music, stories, and literary voices. A Podcast will be developed and available online along with a possible television production.
Jeff Nadalin: $3,000 - The Birder film will be released on a DVD with extended footage produced by local emerging filmmakers and artists.
Jamie Reaume: $3,500 - This is a music project of Cowboys in Cardigans who will record a holiday record including 2 new tracks.
Mark Baker: $3,500 - The French Connection will be a local travelling play during which actors and musicians will tell the story of more than 300 years of Francophone History in Windsor. Research and script-writing will be the focus of the grant.
Mandy Salter: $3,000 - The Assumption University has a collection of items that are regionally and nationally significant. Mandy Salter will work to preserve and display this collection, making it accessible to all residents, and the public.
Nadine Deleury: $4,600 - The Pat Sturn Project will use these funds to commission the music to accompany a poem written by Marty Gervais honouring the life of Romanian/Canadian photographer Pat Sturn.
Lindsay Whalen: $1,500 - Funds from the grant will assist in the production of the Zine - an innovative and dynamic production developed by Windsor youth.
Fogolar Furlan Windsor: $1,000 - These funds will be used to support Polenta Fest - a culinary cultural festival being held in September 2014.
Crosstown Players: $1,500 - This fund will allow the production of Fort Frostbite - Bringing 1812 to 2014 to occur. Fort Frostbite is an historical comedy set in Sandwich Towne.
Windsor Feminist Theatre: $1,500 - City in Concert: Volunteer Speed Dating is an open-air eclectic set of musical performances that will take place among kiosks of local Not-for-profits and cultural business kiosks as part of a community outreach awareness-raising effort designed to acquaint volunteers to various Not-for-profits.
