Please Note:

As of February 2, 2026, all building inspections will need to be scheduled via Cloudpermit.

Inspections are conducted for construction authorized through a building permit that was issued by the City’s Building Department. It is the responsibility of the property owner or authorized agent of the property owner to request building inspections at key stages of construction.

Important Information When Requesting an Inspection:

  • When booking an inspection be sure to have the following information available:
    • The building permit number
    • Municipal address of the project
    • The type of inspection being requested
    • Preferred inspection date
    • Preferred time of inspection (a.m. or p.m.) and
    • Site contact name/number (This is the person who will be meeting the inspector on-site for the inspection.)
  • Same-day Inspection requests are not available.
  • High-volume inspection periods may require a 48-hour timeline to complete inspections.
  • Inspection requests via Cloudpermit received during office hours between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding holidays, weekends, and closures) will be booked the next business day or as the schedule permits
  • Inspection requests received between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. will be scheduled within two business days.
  • The building inspection staff make all reasonable attempts to maintain scheduled inspection times; however, unforeseen events may occur, and changes to the inspection schedule may result.
  • A re-inspection fee may be applied for work that is not deemed ready for inspection. To avoid re-inspection fee charges, please contact the dispatcher to cancel before the building inspector attends the site.

How to Request an Inspection, Change Date and Time, or Cancel:

Once a building permit is issued and the project is ready for an inspection by a City building inspector, you can request an inspection through the Cloudpermit system. Please note, inspection requests received over phone or email will not be acknowledged.

To book an inspection in the Cloudpermit System:

  1. Login to your Cloudpermit account.
  2. Open the specific permit related to your inspection request.
  3. You must be in the "Work & Construction" tab to see the required inspections. 
  4. Scroll down to the inspections section of the permit.
  5. Follow the prompts to request an inspection.
  6. Cloudpermit will provide confirmation of your inspection request.

Note: If the inspection type is not listed as an option under your permit, please use the messaging option in the Cloudpermit system to contact Dispatch and request that the inspection be added to the permit.
