Accessible Employment

The City of Windsor will create an accessible work environment for all employees across the employment life cycle in accordance with the requirements and timelines set out in the Employment Standards and existing requirements under the Ontario Human Rights Code to accommodate people with disabilities.

The City of Windsor posts information about the availability of accommodations for applicants with disabilities on every job posting.

In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, the City of Windsor will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment, selection and/or assessment process to applicants with disabilities. If selected to participate in the recruitment, selection and/or assessment process, please inform the City of Windsor Human Resources staff of the nature of any accommodation(s) that you may require in respect of any materials or processes used to ensure your equal participation.

Please note: For individuals selected for an interview and/or testing, appropriate accommodations, including but not limited to accessible formats and/or communications support, are available upon request. The City will consult with any applicant who requests an accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s disability.

Successful applicants will be notified about the City’s policies for accommodating employees with disabilities as part of their offer of employment.

Please see the Respectful Workplace Policy and the Integrated Accessibility Standard under the City of Windsor Accessibility Procedures for more detailed information.
