Post-war ridership experienced a decline due to Windsor's automotive economic base.
Facts
- The River Canard line was discontinued in 1951.
- Tecumseh route buses began and ended their runs each day in Tecumseh, where the SW&A maintained a small outlying garage - normally with an allocation of just two buses.
- In 1956, the 6-mile Tecumseh route was cancelled.
- Not until November 1958 did the SW&A announce that it would no longer salt or clean the snow from streets used by its buses. Without any financial help from the City, the SW&A operated its own snowplough and sanding trucks, which did a fine job of keeping the routes clean for its buses as well as the motoring public.
