Dental and Denture Services
A monthly dental card is attached to each month's Ontario Works (OW) cheque/statement for adult members only of each benefit unit. A current dental card must be provided to the dentist/denturist at each scheduled appointment. Clients may be expected to pay for denture/dental services not covered by Ontario Works.
Emergency dental services are available to eligible adult applicants as follows:
- Adults (18 years of age and older) in receipt of Ontario Works are eligible for emergency dental care only (relief of pain);
- Dependent adults (ages 18-21) of Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) clients may be eligible for emergency dental care only (clients to contact the ODSP office for further details).
Children of Ontario Works recipients are covered through the Healthy Smiles Ontario dental program. The program provides free dental care for children and youth 17 years of age and under. Every child enrolled will receive their own dental card. Please note the expiry date on the child's dental card.
