Parent/Caregiver Information, Workshops and Resources

  • EarlyON Child and Family Centre (EarlyON CFC) community partners present discussion groups, information sessions and workshop series based on parent/caregiver requests at many EarlyON CFCs.
  • Some examples include You Make the Difference (speech and language delay prevention series), Baby Massage, Toilet Learning, Sibling Rivalry, and many others.

Pre and Postnatal Resources and Information

  • Several of the EarlyONs house parent resource lending libraries providing information related to pre and postnatal issues.
  • Also available monthly is a Health Unit nurse to address group concerns and to discuss healthy child development during the early years, which is critical for long-term health and well-being.

Referrals and Linkages to Other Early Years and Community Services

  • Families learn about services related to health, libraries, recreation, schools and child care.
  • Referrals are available for children with special needs (e.g. infant hearing, blind/low vision, speech and language delays and other developmental delays)
  • Referrals are available for other family supports (breast-feeding concerns, child care fee assistance, family counselling, special programs for fathers, etc.)
