Our Mission

Huron Lodge is a community that provides a heartfelt circle of care for individuals of all ages through teamwork, compassion and trust.

Our Vision

An older gentleman smiles in a garden outside of Huron LodgeMake each day better than the one before!

In order to achieve our mission and vision statements, Huron Lodge provides interdisciplinary resident centred care and an opportunity to maintain independence and self worth for those that require long-term care accommodations. Our environment promotes quality of life opportunities for our residents while also ensuring they are active participants in their own care plans.

Residents’ Bill of Rights

The bill of rights reminds everyone (residents, staff, family, friends and neighbours) that residents of long-term care homes are valued members of the community.

The Residents’ Bill of Rights includes rights afforded to all persons living in long-term care homes in Ontario. The Ontario Residents’ Bill of Rights is embedded in our provincial legislation, The Long-Term Care Homes Act (LTCHA), 2007 and the accompanying Regulations (O. Reg. 79/10).

Our Amenities

A collage of the amenities at Huron Lodge, including the celebration room, meeting room, auditorium and tuck shop.

Huron Lodge, a state-of-the-art long-term care facility, opened its doors on April 14, 2007 when 224 residents moved into their new home.

The building is divided into seven distinct resident home areas each with thirty-two residents. Each home area features private, semi-private and basic accommodations. Every room is accented with a memory box, displaying treasures familiar to the resident.

One resident home area is a secured home area, which allows the safe exploration of the area along with a secured outdoor garden. This home area is utilized for our residents who require the additional support to ensure their safety while still promoting independence.

Huron Lodge offers many other amenities, including a cafe and tuck shop where hot meals as well as snacks can be purchased, a craft room, a hairdressing salon, a chapel for our spiritual services, a resident laundry area and a resident library. Our large group programs are held in our auditorium along with our licenced cocktail bar. Additionally, Huron Lodge has an on-site dental facility, which eases any transportation concerns in booking off-site dental appointments.
