Minimum Qualifications (non negotiable):

  • Must be proficient in PCLAW
  • Must be organized, have excellent knowledge of the English language, and accurate spelling
  • Needs to be a logical thinker
  • Must be comfortable with scheduling lawyers’ court schedule daily, office conferences, telephone conferences, and discussions with clientele
  • Must have experience/affluence in PC Law, W​ord, and Outlook
  • Some knowledge of Excel helpful but not necessary
  • Comfortable using google, accessing portals, and internet research sites
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize with minimal training
  • Must be able to work independently, but be a people person to deal with clients, other lawyers, Crown Attorney office personnel, Court services, Trial co-ordination, and Judges’ secretaries​​​

Job Description:

  • Full time legal assistant for Criminal Defence Lawyer
  • 90 day probation
  • 8:30-4:30 Monday - Friday lunch from 12:00-1:00
  • Salary to be determined on experience
  • Downtown Location - parking paid by employer
  • Responsible for dockets, billing of accounts, and all collections of outstanding balances
  • Some bookkeeping required
  • Accepting retainers and doing banking
