  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 30Lbs
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Team player must be able to lift, push or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
  • Support continuous improvement techniques/activities.

Job Description:

The general labourer supports operations in the movements of materials/profiles, mainly stacking finished goods, packing in a safe and secure manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mark, record and report defects
  • Clean and perform preparation for work-site
  • Sort and package materials
  • Help with inventory count
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials
  • Help stack material for shipment
  • Assist with operators around the saw and press when needed
  • Follow 5S system
  • Follow all safety procedures, and report anything that is unsafe to supervisor
  • Other duties assigned, when needed

Objectives

  • Ensure tools are in proper working condition and safe to use
  • Support production and materials handlers packing and wrapping finished goods off the line ensuring accuracy of posted tags, clearing goods of shavings within the profiles
  • Ensure work areas are clean, clear of debris and safe, complying with 5S practice throughout the plant
