Roseland, Rose City Ford and First Responders Teed Up for Charity

Roseland Golf and Curling Club and presenting sponsor Rose City Ford are pleased to announce that the Roseland Responder Golf Classic Tournament Series for 2023 is sold out.

"Rose City Ford is proud to be the presenting sponsor,” said General Manager Scott Ohler. “There's no better way for the Rose City Ford team to show our support for some very worthy causes and recognize our appreciation for first responders while also celebrating the heritage and tradition of Roseland Golf and Curling Club."

The golf classic will run each summer as a lead-up to Roseland’s 100th anniversary celebration taking place in 2026 – “the Road to 100.”

Following the huge success of the Can-Am Police-Fire Games golf fundraisers held at Roseland over the previous four years, all involved agreed hosting something new to keep the fundraising going would be great for the community.

The money raised will support three charities selected by Essex-Windsor EMS (Emergency Medical Services), Windsor Police Service (WPS) and Windsor Fire and Rescue Services (WFRS). The three local charities are The Windsor Fire Benefit Fund, Law Enforcement Torch Relay for Special Olympics Ontario and Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - Windsor-Essex County (WECB).

First Responder Quotes:

“WFRS is proud to be part of the Roseland Responder Golf Classic and very pleased that this event will help three charities in our community, including the Windsor Fire Benefit Fund,” said Fire Chief Stephen Laforet.

“Essex-Windsor EMS is honoured to continue to be one of the hosts, this time for the Roseland Responder Golf Classic. The legacy of the Can-Am Police Fire Games is a wonderful opportunity to be shared with our police and fire colleagues. While EMS has chosen CMHA as a charity, all responder charities will benefit from the proceeds of this tournament, and we look forward to teeing up in June,” said EMS Chief Bruce Krauter.

“The Windsor Police Service is proud to participate and support the Roseland Responder Golf Classic. This golf tournament will help raise funds for local charities and further espouses the unique and necessary camaraderie among all first responders in collaboration with our community members and golf enthusiasts,” said Police Chief Jason Bellaire.

The first in the Roseland Responder Golf Classic Tournament Series takes place June 16, 2023.
