Riverdale Park Improvements Begin

Riverdale Park, located at 1069 Riverdale Avenue in Ward Six, will see some construction activity soon followed by nice new amenities for park users.

Contract crews will begin replacing and installing new three-metre-wide asphalt recreational multi-use trails within the park as well as benches, and garbage and recycling silos, and they will be completing some other general restoration work.

The improvements get underway Monday, June 27, 2022, and weather permitting will be complete by July 30. The park will be closed for safety while the upgrade work is being carried out.

“I’m proud to share that we are delivering results through the City’s 2022 budget and the Parks Master Plan to provide these important upgrades at Riverdale Park. Across the city, residents can expect to see additional outdoor spaces and amenities improved as part of the $26 million being invested in area parks this year alone. The quality of life for residents must always remain a top priority, and by enhancing our parks and recreation, it will only get better for Windsorites!” Mayor Drew Dilkens

“I am so pleased to have the funding to reactivate Riverdale Park with the walking trail, benches and silos; it is a welcome upgrade for the neighbourhood and will undoubtedly offer quiet enjoyment for many!” – Councillor Jo-Anne Gignac, Ward Six
