New Commissioner of Community Services Announced
Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens, City Council and Chief Administrative Officer Jason Reynar are pleased to announce Ray Mensour is the successful candidate in the recruitment for Commissioner of Community Services.
Ray has been the Acting Commissioner of Community Services since March 2021 and will join the Corporate Leadership Team on a permanent basis effective today, August 24, 2021.
“I feel very fortunate to be given this increased opportunity, while working with the amazing people and dedicated organizations that make our community so vibrant,” said Ray Mensour. “Together I believe we can continue to work on our goal of improving the services and amenities that we offer our residents.”
After working for the City of Greater Sudbury for 12 years Ray joined the City of Windsor in 2014 as the Manager of the WFCU Centre and Recreation and Facilities. He was able to broaden his knowledge and leadership when he assumed the role of Executive Director of Recreation and Culture in 2017, which ultimately lead him to be the successful candidate in the Commissioner of Community Services position.
Ray speaks both English and French and has an Honours Bachelor Degree in Commerce (specialized in Sports Administration) from Laurentian University. He counts working with the Montreal Expos as a unique experience from his past.
The Office of the Commissioner of Community Services oversees Communications and Customer Service, Library Services, Parks, Recreation and Culture for the City.
The hiring committee would like to thank Jennifer Matotek, Executive Director for the Art Gallery of Windsor, for her work as part of the recruitment panel.
