Expansion of Child Care for Emergency Support Workers

City of Windsor Children's Services is pleased to announce that the provincially approved Emergency Child Care Plan for Windsor has been expanded to Leamington.

Emergency Child Care has been in operation since April 6, 2020 and provides child care to support emergency support workers that may work in the healthcare sector and other frontline workers, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, firefighters, police and correctional officers. Child care is being provided free of charge to those identified on the Province’s List of Workers Eligible for Emergency Child Care. See Appendix A - List of Eligible Workers.

Applications for Emergency Child Care must be made directly through the City of Windsor, Children's Services Department online or by calling 519-255-5312 to ensure eligibility requirements are met. (Please do not contact the child care centres directly.)

Below is a complete listing of the Licensed Child Care Centres that have been approved as part of the Emergency Child Care Plan for Windsor-Essex County:

  2. Olivia DiMaio Inc. - 430 Advance Boulevard, Lakeshore  
  3. Olivia DiMaio Inc. - 1700 Sprucewood Avenue, LaSalle
  4. The Children’s House Montessori (BrightPath) - 2611 Labelle Street,  Windsor
  5. The School House Academy - 3450 Ypres, Windsor
