Community Shows Support for Can-Am Police-Fire Games
Community support for the 2022 Can-Am Police-Fire Games in Windsor continues to shine through, and the latest lead-up event is already completely sold out!
160 golfers have committed their time and money to a fundraising round at Roseland Golf and Curling Club on September 24, 2021.
This will be the third golf event aimed at raising awareness, excitement and funds for what will be a world-class event in 2022.
“We’ve heard time and again from corporations, businesses and individuals that showing their support for our first responders is the least they can do,” said Games General Manager Michael Chantler. “People know how difficult COVID has been on all of us but especially on those in the emergency services fields.”
Joining Chantler in announcing the sold-out event were Chief Pamela Mizuno of the Windsor Police Service, Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Wilker of Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, Chief Bruce Krauter of Essex-Windsor EMS, and presenting sponsor for the 4-year Golf Series Fundraiser Goran Todorovic from Team Goran RE/MAX Care Realty.
“If this past year has taught us anything, it’s how first responders and frontline workers are the backbone of our community,” said Goran Todorovic. “That’s why it is so important that Team Goran RE/MAX Care Realty supports this event, now more than ever.”
The Can-Am Police-Fire Games is a multi-sport event hosted every two years in either Canada or the United States. The event is held over a 6-day period, and the games range from more traditional sports, such as softball, swimming and track and field, to more participant-specific sports, such as SWAT competitions and the Toughest Firefighter Alive competition.
