City of Windsor Holiday Hours for the Civic Holiday

City of Windsor offices will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2020 in observance of the Civic Holiday. This closure is in addition to those set out in our ongoing reduced services protocol due to COVID-19. The next meeting of City Council will be hosted electronically and will be viewable by livestream on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 10 a.m.

The medical supply donation centre at the WFCU Centre will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2020 for the holiday but will be open Tuesday, August 4, 2020, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in place of Monday.

311 Contact Centre

The 311 Contact Centre will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2020. Reduced hours resume on Tuesday, August 4, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 311 services and information are also available online and via the Windsor 311 mobile app.

211 Windsor-Essex

The 211 Call Centre will be open 24 hours on Monday to serve residents throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Garbage and Recycling Collections

There will be no residential collection services on Monday, August 3, 2020. Residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection services will be delayed by one (1) day. Please refer to your 2020-2021 Waste Collection Calendar. Night commercial, front end loader and weekly recycling collections are not delayed. Public Drop-off & Household Chemical Waste Depots

The depots located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and North Service Road will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2020. Regular hours of operation (holidays excepted) are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The depot is available for the self-disposal of garbage, renovation material, furniture, recyclables, appliances, tires, shingles and yard waste. Some disposal fees may apply.

Parks and Recreation

All indoor recreation facilities are closed due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol. Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex and the WFCU Centre will be opening on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 for modified summer day camp only but will remain closed to the public for all other activities.

Some park amenities are closed as well, while park trails and green spaces remain open subject to social distancing guidelines. See summary of what’s open and closed in parks and update on washrooms in parks.

Arenas are currently closed due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol, except for the medical supply donation centre at the WFCU Centre, which will be closed on Monday but open on Tuesday as noted above.

Sandpoint Beach will be open 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2020, weather and water quality permitting. Seven spray pads (excluding Remington Booster and Kim Lucier) are also open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the Civic Holiday.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park

Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union and Cannon Cove are closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol.

Parking Enforcement

There will be no parking enforcement on Monday, August 3, 2020, and municipal ticket payment offices remain closed due to COVID-19. Ticket payments may still be made online by visiting the E-Services tab at www.citywindsor.ca.

Windsor Public Library

All locations of the Windsor Public Library will be closed (including curbside pickup/delivery at all locations and public computer access at Central Branch) on Monday, August 3, 2020. Curbside pickup delivery and public computer access at Central Branch resume on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

Museum Windsor

Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House locations are currently closed due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol.

Transit Windsor

Transit Windsor buses are currently operating on an enhanced Sunday service schedule on selected routes due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol. The Customer Service Office at 300 Chatham Street West will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but the sales office at 3700 North Service Road East will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2020.
