City of Windsor Holiday Hours for Canada Day

City of Windsor offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in observance of the Canada Day Holiday. This closure is in addition to those set out in our ongoing reduced services protocol due to COVID-19.

The medical supply donation centre at the WFCU Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 for the holiday but will be open Thursday, July 2, 2020, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in place of Wednesday.

311 Contact Centre

The 311 Contact Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Reduced hours resume on Thursday, July 2, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 311 services and information are also available online and via the Windsor 311 mobile app.

211 Windsor-Essex

The 211 Call Centre will be open 24 hours on Wednesday to serve residents throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Garbage and Recycling Collections

There will be no residential collection services on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection services will be delayed by one (1) day. Please refer to your 2020-2021 Waste Collection Calendar. Night commercial, front end loader and weekly recycling collections are not delayed. Public Drop-off & Household Chemical Waste Depots

The depots located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and North Service Road will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Regular hours of operation (holidays excepted) are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The depot is available for the self-disposal of garbage, renovation material, furniture, recyclables, appliances, tires, shingles and yard waste. Some disposal fees may apply.

Parks and Recreation

All indoor recreation facilities are closed due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol. Some park amenities are closed as well, while park trails and green spaces remain open subject to social distancing guidelines. Arenas are currently closed due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol, except for the medical supply donation centre at the WFCU Centre, which will be closed on Wednesday but open on Thursday as noted above.

Sandpoint Beach is currently closed. Access to the beach is restricted by fencing, and the water area is not supervised by lifeguards. 

Adventure Bay Family Water Park

Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union and Cannon Cove are closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol.

Parking Enforcement

There will be no parking enforcement on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, and municipal ticket payment offices remain closed due to COVID-19. Ticket payments may still be made online by visiting the E-Services tab at www.citywindsor.ca.

Windsor Public Library

All locations of the Windsor Public Library will be closed (including curbside pickup and delivery) on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Curbside pickup and delivery resume on Thursday, July 2, 2020.

Museum Windsor

Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House locations are currently closed due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol.

Transit Windsor

Transit Windsor buses are currently operating on an enhanced Sunday service schedule on selected routes due to the COVID-19 reduced services protocol. The Customer Service Office at 300 Chatham Street West and the sales office at 3700 North Service Road East will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
