Public Safety Standing Committee 

Who We Are

The Public Safety Standing Committee is comprised of the following 5 members of City Council, with the Mayor as ex-officio:

  • Councillor Dilkens
  • Councillor Gignac
  • Councillor Jones
  • Councillor Payne
  • (vacant)

What We Do

The Public Safety Standing Committee typically meets on the third Wednesday of each month.  The Administrative Advisors are the City Clerk and/or the City Solicitor.  The mandate of this Standing Committee shall be to study and report to Council on all matters relating to the following:

  • Fire suppression and prevention
  • Community Policing
  • By-law enforcement
  • Regional public safety matters
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Licensing of taxicabs and other services
