Youth Community Calendar
In Partnership With
Connecting Windsor-Essex TM

The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) officially launched its new calendar to act as the official youth community calendar for Windsor-Essex. In partnership with the Connecting Windsor-Essex™ Smart Community Portal, the committee plans to use the existing calendar community resource www.windsor-essex.info.

“The calendar will allow the opportunity for organizations, clubs, youth, school councils and the community to post events going on in and around Windsor-Essex for youth. The concept is that if you’re looking for something to do this Friday, just check out the calendar and see what’s happening,” says Denny Timm, co-chair of MYAC.

The calendar will allow users to upload youth events from park cleanups, band nights, school plays to dances and fundraisers happening around the city. “In order for the calendar to be of good use though, we need to ensure the community populates it with their events. In the end, we want to provide one key resource for what’s going on in Windsor for youth,” says Denny Timm.

A marketing strategy for the calendar will be drawn up sometime in the next few weeks to get the word out to the community. The committee also plans to contact school councils, youth organizations and other committees to market the calendar.
