Sports Fields Status
Update: Friday, June 23, 2017
Confirmed closures for today are:
Mic Mac Park – all baseball diamonds
All West Division baseball diamonds except Devonshire Heights, Leafield and Optimist
We are asking all clubs to please use their discretion when making a decision to play on City of Windsor fields. Most fields are wet (mostly the red clay diamonds) and all diamonds are not getting all the TLC (grooming and painted line) they normally get when it is dry; but some of the diamonds are playable. Club presidents and/or designates are asked to make the decision and communicate directly with their clubs/coaches/convenors. Remember to call within 48 hours if you decide not to play on the field, otherwise you will be charged as using the field as allocated.
Please be reminded that we always rely on your best judgement. If the field conditions are questionable (i.e. the safety of the players is compromised or the field is at risk of being damaged), please do not play on them. It will be the responsibility of the leagues to pay for any damage caused, and there is an applicable "Unauthorized Use of Field" fine that will be charged to the league.
Thank you for your cooperation.
