Madison Violet in Concert Presented by Windsor Folk Society Saturday February 27, at 8:00pm

Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac have developed a devoted following over the 9 years that they have been playing together. The Cape Breton natives have channeled their parent’s vintage record collection that comprised of the likes of Neil Young and Dolly Parton into a sound of their own, which has variously been described as city-folk and tumbleweed pop. Avid 'road dogs', they have opened for Ron Sexsmith, Chantal Kreviazuk, Indigo Girls and The Temptations in concerts throughout the world. They are master songwriters and lively storytellers. Their latest album, 'No Fool For Trying' is lush with harmonies, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and upright bass. Windsor Folk is pleased to host their first performance in our region. Tickets: $15 Members, $18 Non-members, cash only sales. Four-year-old Lucy’s imaginary friend Mr. Marmalade doesn't have enough time for her. He has a personal assistant to beat up, an addiction to nurse, and a plethora of smut to peruse. Larry, Lucy’s only real friend, has problems of his own, owning the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey. “Alternately hilarious and heartbreaking,” says The New Yorker of Michigan playwright Haidle’s script. Mr. Marmalade is a savage black comedy about what it takes to grow up in a society rampant with excess information. Tickets: $20 General, $15 Senior/Student. Johnny West Live: One-Man Show Sunday March 7th at 7:00 p.m. FREE Admission

Johnny West is a hairy guy who plays a lot of different instruments, and makes a lot of music that doesn't fit neatly into any specific genre. He is currently in the process of releasing his 29th official solo CD, which includes songs about selfless acts of animal kindness, elderly bone thieves, and cigarettes made of chocolate, among other things. Though he plays his own songs live about as often as woodland creatures sing Swedish lullabies, he has decided to make an exception to the rule, for one night only...unless this one night goes really well; then he might consider making another exception at some point in the future. In any case, join Johnny, his hair, a grand piano, and an arsenal of things with strings, for an extended one-man show on March 7th. It will be a FREE all ages show, with free refreshments, CDs and conversation. That's a lot of free. Doors at 6:00 pm; music starts at 7:00.

John Mann in Concert Presented by Windsor Folk Society John will perform in April on Saturday April 24 at 8:00p.m.

Windsor Folk is pleased to feature John Mann in a solo Concert. John is the lead singer and songwriter of Vancouver’s indefatigable folk pop outfit Spirit of the West. They shared the stage with Great Big Sea at the sold-out St. Patrick's Day 2009 concert at the new Windsor Arena. John released his first solo record in 2002. His most recent recording is December Looms. "John pens beautiful melodies with emotionally honest lyrics that capture the intimate moments of his hometown of Vancouver, its occupants, the fragile details of their dysfunctional love and the loss of a city’s innocence. If Damien Rice was Jeff Tweedy and Jeff Tweedy was Josh Ritter, you’d come away with something kindred to December Looms". Tickets: $15 Members, $18 Non-members, cash only sales. Tickets are available at the following locations as well as at the door: Mackenzie Hall front desk, Casa Chevala at 405 Pelissier Street phone 519-254-6865, and Riverside Music at 4721 Wyandotte Street East phone 519-974-9001.
