Four-year-old Lucy’s imaginary friend Mr. Marmalade doesn't have enough time for her. He has a personal assistant to beat up, an addiction to nurse, and a plethora of smut to peruse. Larry, Lucy’s only real friend, has problems of his own, owning the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey. “Alternately hilarious and heartbreaking,” says The New Yorker of Michigan playwright Haidle’s script. Mr. Marmalade is a savage black comedy about what it takes to grow up in a society rampant with excess information.
