Who We Are

The Windsor Accessibility Advisory Committee (WAAC) is comprised of 12 members, including volunteer citizens, disabled citizens and one member of City Council, The WAAC meet monthly and seek to eliminate barriers for persons with disabilities.

 

What We Do

The WAAC advises Windsor City Council in promoting a barrier free community for persons with disabilities.  In addition, WAAC is also responsible to:

  • Oversee the development and preparation of the Annual Accessibility Plan
  • Review the implementation and effectiveness of said plan and report to Council
  • Review and monitor federal, provincial and municipal directives and regulations as they relate to persons with disabilities
  • Identify issues of concern to persons with disabilities and recommend action where appropriate
