Councillor Caroline Postma is a graduate of J.L. Forster Secondary School, and of St. Clair College in both Human Resource Management and Hotel Management. She and her husband Dave operate their own successful consultancy business where they streamline processes and prepare procedures to make organizations more efficient. Caroline Postma says she is both grateful and humbled by her first term as Councillor for Ward 2. She describes her new position as an opportunity to make a positive change for the west end, the place she called home throughout her entire life. Having been raised by a single parent on mother’s allowance, she is all too familiar with the everyday struggles of the people she represents. Councillor Postma leads by example. Prior to being elected, her work in the community included the creation of Adopt-A-Park and involvement in Beavers (Scouts Canada), Neighbourhood Watch (where she served as Block Captain), Dougall Public School Parents Council, Dougall Public School Breakfast for Learning, Windsor Clean City Committee, and Windsor Fire and Rescue Services - Fire Prevention. Additionally, she is often credited with helping people with their personal struggles. Caroline Postma sits on 18 committees to ensure that the west end’s best interests are represented. Her short-term goal is to restore empowerment to her constituents through organizing neighbourhood clean-ups and by addressing back yard issues, city infrastructure, fair taxes and responsible spending. Her long-term goal is to make the west end “the” place where people want to live, not just settle. Caroline and Dave Postma raise their three kids, David, Steven, and Alyssa, in a downtown, west-end home.                 |
