Councillor Dave Brister is a graduate of the University of Windsor, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of the St. Clair College Tourism Program, a Member of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) and a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP). Councillor Brister has nearly 20 years of financial experience with a local manufacturing company and is also a successful business owner.

Councillor Brister believes that Windsor’s international border issues must be resolved through the systematic development of the “best plan,” one that provides a safe and healthy environment for residents, promotes increased investment in our region and facilitates more efficient trade between Canada and the United States. He says, “The border solution must be one which does not cut our city in half and destroy our neighbourhoods.”

In terms of municipal budgeting, Councillor Brister strongly believes in accountability and fiscal responsibility. He says that spending priorities must be established through consultation with residents and that all waste must be cut in order to direct taxpayer funds to areas including infrastructure needs, essential services, and paying down the City’s debt.

Dave Brister and his wife Teresa have three children - Joshua, Brittany and Noah – and live in Ward 1.
