Festival Plaza Event

The City of Windsor offers a variety of park and outdoor special event locations throughout the city.  We can assist you with large-scale festivals at the Riverfront Festival Plaza or smaller community events at your neighbourhood park.

When is a special event really special?

Although every event that takes place across the City is important and special to the event organizers, there are some special events that require assistance from our specialized team of experts.  Our Coordinator of Community and Special Events and the Special Events Resource Team (SERT) provide the foundation for events utilizing municipal venues, requiring street closures, by-law waivers, or other special considerations.

Our expertise includes assisting in organizing international, regional and community events and in maintaining schedules for events within the community.

Community special events require a permit to ensure that you have priority and exclusive use of the venue and that all legal and legislated conditions are adhered to.

Remember, the sooner you contact us to obtain municipal approval, the more we can do to assist you in organizing a successful event. For more information about obtaining a special event permit contact the Special Events Coordinator at 519-253-2300 ext 6716.
