The Ontario Mayors for Automotive Investment (OMAI), representing more than 30 municipalities across the province, met on October 6, 2006 in Windsor to discuss issues of common concern.  Among the significant issues discussed were the Canada-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, presently in negotiation. Another issue was the federal government’s proposed Clean Air Act, which will have a detrimental impact on the automotive industry if in place by 2010.
