- As an agency of the City of Windsor, Transit Windsor management reports to a Board of Directors appointed by City Council and is responsible for planning, development, marketing and operation of public transit systems based on the policies and budget allocations established by City Council.

- The TRIPS phone line allows callers to access route and schedule information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

- The Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 requires public transit systems to develop annual Accessibility Plans and make them public. It is important to note that Accessibility Plans are to be produced within existing resources (no new funding has been provided for the implementation of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act).
- Transit Windsor has provided service to the community for over 130 years:
- Canada's first electric street railway, which began operating in Windsor on May 28th, 1886
- The first Canadian city with an all electric transit system in 1891
- Canada's first trolley bus operation on May 4, 1922
