Acceptable Garbage Containers:

All garbage must be contained in Garbage Bags or Cans
(125 litre/30 gallon maximum size) or Herby Curby containers!  This information is available in Arabic, Chinese and Spanish. 

• Metal or Plastic Cans
  • Maximum 125 litre/30 gallon capacity
  • Maximum 78 cm./31" tall, 50 cm./20" diameter
  • 2 handles and a water tight lid
• Herby Curby: Call (519) 948-5854 for rental info, or visit the Herby Curby Website.
  • This is the only approved wheeled container in excess of the 125L/30 gallon limit.
  • All trucks have a Herby Curby lifting device.
• Plastic Bags:
  • Commercial grade plastic bags only
  • Recommended size 26" x 36"
  • Never put glass or sharp objects in bags.
  • Do not use grocery and shopping bags for garbage.

Oversized containers will not be collected.

Unacceptable Containers:

• Small grocery or shopping bags.
• Cardboard Boxes - these should always be recycled or used for yard waste.
• Oversized and overweight containers (+20kg./45lbs).
• Many wheeled containers that are sold are too big and when filled are too heavy.
