 Public Drop Off Depot and Household Chemical Waste (HCW) Depot:  Located at E.C.Row and Central

 
 

Hours of Operation

  • Winter Hours* - January 1st thru to April 3, 2010 - Mon to Fri- 8:30 am to 3:45 pm Sat. 9 am to 12:45 pm
  • Spring Hours* Extended Hours at the Public Drop Off Depot - Monday April 5 thru to Saturday May 29, 2010 - Monday to Friday 8am to 6:45 pm and Sat 8am - 4:45 pm  
  • Summer Hours* - Monday May 31 thru to Saturday Nov. 27, 2010 - Mon to Sat 8 am to 4:45 pm
  • Winter Hours* will resume on Monday November 29, 2010 to April 2, 2011 - Mon - Fri 8:30 am to 3:45 pm.  Sat 9 am to 12:45 pm.
  • * Hours subject to change. 

Tipping Fees:  New Prices in effect February 1st, 2010.  Download a printable Tipping Fee Schedule or see the chart below.

  • Public Notice:  Loads delivered in a rental vehicle, rental trailer or a dealer plated vehicle will be assessed a fee at a rate of $6.00/100 kg.
  • Dealer Plates:  These vehicles will be coded in as Commercial vehicles subject to the Industrial/Commercial/Institutional tipping fee rates.

Refuse / Garbage

  • 4 loads annually $2.00 each if load weighs 0-100 kg.  Further loads weighing 0 - 100 kg after 4 loads will be assessed a flat fee of $9.00 each.  Loads weighing more than 100 kg will be assessed as:  Over 100 kg $9.20/100 kg. (on total weight)
  • Charge Account Customers:  $60.00 / tonne
  • Cash Customers:  $6.00 / 100 kg ($6.00 minimum charge applies)

Railway Ties

Railway ties are charged as refuse/garbage at the rate of $9.75 per 100 kg.Maximum 6 railway ties.

Yard Waste: 
Tree trimmings, brush, leaves.  Ash trees and tree stumps up to 12" dia. are accepted.

Grass:  $2.00 per container.  Please refer to attached Price Sheet on Grass Clippings

  • Charge Account Customers:  $42.00 / tonne
  • Cash Customers:  $4.20 / 100 kg
  • $4.20 minimum charge applies
Recyclable material/appliances and scrap metal
Free including tin and aluminum cans, newspapers, glass bottles, etc.
Free including office paper, cardboard, metal desks, etc.
Fridge/Freezer/Air Conditioning Units
$15.00 charge for items with a compressor

Tires (with or without rim)

Included:  Passenger, truck and off-road tires, ALL sizes. 

Excluded:  Bicycle & airplane tires.

  • Free (8 tires or less) annually
  • Air must be removed from tires with a split rim.
  • After 8 tires the following fees are assessed per tire:
  • Car Tire - $3.00
  • Light Truck Tire - $4.50
  • Med. Truck Tire - $15.00
  • Farm Tractor Tires - $35.00

The following restrictions/charges apply:

  • There is a limit for residential customers of 2 - 20 litre pails of any product, i.e. motor oil, cooking oil, paint or any other materials collected, at any one time.   
  • Reuse Centre: $5.00 charge to purchase a 20-litre pail of paint
