Renovations to Outdoor Pools
Parks and Recreation is currently working on a number of major construction/renovation projects in outdoor pools:
Central Pool
Parks and Recreation will begin demolishing 40-year-old Central Pool, located within Central Park on Woodland Ave in South Windsor in January 2010. A new leisure pool, funded by the City of Windsor, will be completed for the summer 2010.
Equipment and materials will be stored in the north end of Central Park and a temporary road will link with the existing pool. Regular maintenance is occuring on the trees in the north but there will be no impact on the trees as a result of the construction project.
The new leisure pool will feature a beach entry and water features within the pool. More details on the construction schedule and visuals of the new pool design will be available at aa later date.
Outdoor Pools are closed at this time.
