Welcome to the Parking Enforcement Office:

  • As of Monday, May 16, 2011 the City of Windsor's Parking Enforcement Office will be moving from 400 City Hall Square East to its new location at 1266 McDougall. Services offered at the McDougall office will include the following:
    • Parking ticket payment
    • Residential parking permit purchase
    • Parking ticket inquiries and disputes

Services:

  • Parking Enforcement is provided through Commissionaires Windsor Division. 
    • If you are requesting parking enforcement services please contact Commissionaires - Windsor Division at 519-796-0841.
    • For ticket inquiries and to obtain any other information, please contact the Parking Enforcement office at 519-255-6298.
  • The Parking Enforcement Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Residential Parking Permits can also be obtained at this location from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • A maximum of two Residential Permits can be provided to each household.
  • The cost of the first Residential Permit is $30.00, and a second permit can be purchased for $15.00.

Ticket Payment Methods:

  • In Person:  Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., 1266 McDougall Street.  Payments are accepted by debit, Visa, Mastercard and cash. 
  • By Mail:  Write the Parking Infraction Notice number on the front of your cheque or money order and make it payable to "The City of Windsor".  Do not send cash by mail.  Postdated cheques or payments by installments will not be accepted.  Mail payments to:

  • On-Line Ticket Payments: Access this service by selecting "Parking Ticket Payment" on the Ticket Payment page, accessible from the E-Services menu in the navigation bar above.
  • Customer Care Centres at Forest Glade Community Centre, 3215 Forest Glade Drive; Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex, 1551 Wyandotte Street West; Gino & Liz Marcus Community Centre, 1168 Drouillard Road; Optimist Community Centre, 1075 Ypres Boulevard; and South Windsor Community Centre, 2555 Pulford are open for direct payment of parking tickets within 20 days of issue.  Payments are accepted by Debit, Visa, Mastercard and cash.  The Customer Care Centres are open extended hours:  Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Closed statutory holidays.

Disputing A Ticket:

  • Individuals can dispute a ticket through our First Attendance Facility at 1266 McDougall by completing a Ticket Review Form.
  • Individuals can also choose to take the matter to Court if they are not satisfied with the decision made through a First Attendance by completing a Notice of Intention To Appear at 1266 McDougall. 

Enforcement:

Enforcement of Parking By-law 9023 (see By-laws Online) is provided from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight, Monday to Saturday for:

  • All municipally owned surface lots
  • Specific private property locations
  • Street meters
  • Residential permit parking areas
  • All regulated roads in the City of Windsor
  • Private property where the owner meets officer and signs a Private Property Form

Additional Information

  • Information regarding the City of Windsor's parking by-laws, truck routes, loading zones, etc. can be obtained from Parking By-law 9023 (see By-laws Online).
  • Information regarding the cost of specific parking violations can be viewed on the Set Fines Schedule.
  • To file a complaint regarding a parking meter, please call 311 or email 311@city.windsor.on.ca.
  • A parking ticket will not affect your insurance.  A parking ticket will show up on the Ministry of Transportation records if it is not paid within approximately 3 to 4 months.
  • People with handicapped parking permits must pay the parking meter fee.
  • When street parking switches sides for a new month, you can move your car to the opposite side of the street beginning at 10:00 p.m. on the last day of the month.  If the vehicle is parked on a bus route it must be moved at 10:00 a.m.  after which residential streets are enforced.
